HikingGreat!

Definitely a moderate trail, with very little "flat" terrain. You're either going up or down. Nice view of Norris Dam from the top of Observation Hill, complete with a pavilion and picnic table. One part of the trail has loose gravel, so a hiking stick would help. Trail is actually a combination of a couple of trails, so download the map to stay on track.

Nice hiking trail to a great look out point with a picnic table and benches to enjoy the view.

I seem to always come up with a longer distance than what AllTrails says a Trail will be. They say 2.something. I come up with 3.something. Nice woodsy trail on a cool, breezy, low-humidity fall-like day.

Super hard to follow. Do hill reservoir trail for the loop. Download the Map. The trails all blend and honestly there’s parts where it goes in three different directions

HikingGreat!

As other commenters said, this trail was challenging to follow, so I had to refer to my AllTrails app a handful of times to actually stay on the right trail. It was a really nice after work hike. I saw no other hikers and just two friendly mountain bikers. I guess it took me about an hour not including my break at the top. There’s a nice picnic table and a couple of nice benches at the top, so it would have been a nice spot to have a picnic with friends!

HikingBlowdown

I forgot to record it, but I will remember it on my own. Take the high path, first. It is a consistent climb with switchbacks that is quite manageable. The trails follows the crest for a bit...couldn’t see anything with summer foliage but the trail and area were beautiful...high canopy, lots of open space. The waterside walk is great, but a bit overgrown and there are three fairly large downed trees that you’ll have to work your way over. Easy enough, tricky if you have a child on your back. :)

This trail is TERRIBLY marked. The only markers are at main trail junctions - no blazes or signs once on the trail. On the hill reservoir circle there are multiple intersections with no signs so I had to rely on the all trails map to get me through the loop. With turn arounds it came out to 3.2 miles instead of 2.6. There was also tons of horse poop. The view is ok but I wouldn’t drive far to do this trail.

This overlook was awesome, but, boy, was it a complicated trek. The trail markers are terrible, inconsistent, and often nonexistent. By the time we finished all of our pauses, map checks, and turn arounds, we rounded out about 3.2 miles. Made for a frustrating hour, but again, the overlook view is beautiful!

For now, Observation Point can be reached from the Norris Watershed via Eagle Trail, Not only does this access remain open, but it is infinitely prettier, better designed, and better maintained than the entrance from the Park! Check the City of Norris website for details and a trail map!

Great trail! It is a straight incline most of the trail, but there are some leveled out spots. Part of the trail is overgrown, but the park tries to cut it back often. It can only do single file for the overgrown part. It’s really shady. The view is awesome at the top, and the park has put a bench and gazebo at the top if you decide to take a break.

There’s several trails in the area that branch off of this particular trail. I was able to get ~5.5 miles

Really enjoyed this trail. Did the loop and up to observation point. All together about 4.5’ish miles. Took about 2 hours at a relaxed pace. Very much enjoyed the scenery. Trail is well traveled and saw an abundance of wildlife. Ups and downs made it a good workout but not overwhelming. I’d highly recommend this trail for a few hours of fun.

Very nice trail but poorly marked. It would be a good scout project to put some blazes on trees at intersections. Wouldn’t have found my way without this app

First to Review

Well maintained trail; mostly easy with some rather steep sections. Nice forest walk with a wonderful view of the dam from up top. This is “the trail” for all things Norris.
