Newfound Gap to Long Ridge Campsite is a 22.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Gatlinburg, Tennessee that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.

If you are going to do this trail and carry a pack on it do yourself a favor and make sure you go down. This is an AT connector trail and it really does mean business. It is positively the single most demoralizing trail I have done. Hit it at the end of the day and was tired and it just keeps going up. Turn after turn leaves you with one indelible image. 20% grade. In all seriousness, there are no bad trails and this one does serve a purpose, which is to get from point A to point B. Beyond that necessity, though, it has no need for existence
