Melton Hill Trails is a 2.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Knoxville, Tennessee that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
In addition to the greenway trail at Melton Hill Park, there are several miles of natural surface trails that make a series of loops around the park. The mowed meadow trail begins north of the swimming beach, paralleling the greenway trail. On your way around, there will be a spur trail to connect to the adjacent loop which heads over to the eastern boat dock, weaving through the meadows in that section. This is a perfect habitat for a variety of birds for those that enjoy birdwatching. From the southern-most parking area past the playground and volleyball court, there is a trail that leads into the forest. This woodsy path skirts along the shoreline, offering several spurs over to the rocky bank of the Clinch River. This trail loops through the woods and offers several return options.
It is an okay walk, not really a trail, more like visiting a park. If you venture of to the left of the parking lot, you'll get on a short trail that is pretty.
Very quiet and underutilized. Enjoyed the park and the dogs loved the water!
