Hike from the Foothills Parkway to the Look Rock Tower (observation). The trail has a moderate elevation gain from the trail head to the observation tower. You will pass an air quality monitoring station along the way to the tower. The Look Rock Tower is a concrete observation tower that allows excellent views of the western side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Short, sweet, and million dollar views.

Moderately easy, short hike - we went just after fall so many leaves covered the trail and made for a slippery outing, but other than that the views of both the Smokies and Maryville/Alcoa are amazing.

When we found out Clingman's Dome wasn't dog friendly we had to alter our plans. This was the perfect end to our weekend. Paved walkway and spectacular views on this short, half mile hike slightly uphill. Worth it as tired as we already were. Thank you for the app!!

This is not a bad hike, just not fair to rate it higher than 3 stars considering other places that give more rewarding experiences. The hike is short and definitely kid friendly. The views from the tower are the highest on the Foothills Parkway. At the end of it all you are on a man made structure and that makes it less of a hiking experience to me. I would recommend this for a quick morning or evening stroll if you are in the area.
