Directions from Fontana Lake, NC: Take SR 28 west to the Twentymile Ranger Station. Begin on the Twentymile Creek Trail and bear right at the fork. This path leads to Long Hungry Ridge Trail.

This was a difficult trail. Lots of elvation changes and the trail was hard to follow in a couple of places. The wild flowers were beautiful. Saw a couple bear and lots of other animals. This was our last hike leading up to crossing the smokies.
