One of the easier trails in the park, to Laurel Falls. After the falls, its all up hill. There is a old fire tower at the top, now a pollution station. Some old, bigger trees as well past the falls.

The first mile or so to the falls was a fantastic hike. We went early in the morning and got a few great views of the fog rolling through the mountains. However if you're looking for a great view of the mountains at the peak of this route, don't waste your time with the final 2.5 miles going up to the top of this trail. It's good if you like a challenging climb, but there's no view to reward you when you get to the end. Would be 5 stars with a good view at the top.

Hiked this in June of 2017. Was amazing. Worth going all the way up. Saw 9 black bears including 2 sets of mom and cubs. Stayed far away so not to threaten. Loved the hike and a few good views from various points, however no big view at the top. Laurell Falls is very beautiful.

Never new the trail continued past the Falla? We did another 3-1/2 miles to Cove Mountain Trail! Saw a baby bear cub playing along the way! Very few hikers went past the falls. Probably 100 or so went to the falls. Very crowded!

The fire tower is not accessible and there is no view from cove mountain. Doing the loop back to Sugarlands VC, you go through the burned area and it’s open and super pretty. That was my favorite part of the trail. You also see Laurel and Cataract Falls.

Trail to Laurel Falls is crowded but a nice hike for children/families. Falls are beautiful. We continued past the Falls for about 3 miles and I would not recommend going that far. It’s nice to get to the less crowded area but there are no views of the mountains and the end of the trail is not something to work for. It is a consistent uphill walk. The trees / ferns are beautiful with some flowers. I’d recommend going about a mile past the Falls and turning around.

Not a good view of anything at the top, pretty views throughout the hike. Best view a little before the falls and at Laurel Falls. More like 9.5 miles instead of 7.7.

Only went to the falls and then turned around. Very good trail, on the way down a bear cub crossed the trail in front of us! Uphill the whole way made it challenging but worth it, would recommend!

Not really impressed after hitting Cove Mnt trail. I’m not feeling good today though either so....... maybe that’s it. Not a hard trail though.

The first 1.3 miles to the waterfall is busy and paved, but at 9:30 in the morning wasn't too bad and there are some nice views of the Fall colors on this section, enhanced by the early morning sunlight. I love the 2.7 miles beyond the falls...just a few other hikers and a nice elevation gain of about 1700 feet on the outbound portion of the trail. the colors were past their peak but if you plan it right, you see some great foilage overlooking the ravines. I also explored 1.5 miles on the Cove Mt. trail which was good also...wide, smooth trail. With the thin foilage this time of year you see some of the development outside the park as this trail runs near the boundary. Likely less of an issue in the summer. Total roundtrip of 11 miles was very enjoyable.

It was a nice hike. Lots of people. We hiked it on 10/26 when a lot of roads in the park were closed due to high winds. And I am not sure if it is always that crowded or if it was only due to inaccessibility of the majority of other trails. The trail to the waterfall is paved and is very easy. The section of the trail past the waterfall is much less crowded. Most people just see the waterfall and turn back. Very quiet peaceful and beautiful with leaves changing color. Though it is a bit more challenging than the first part of the trail and had a couple of trees down. We didn't go all the way to the fire tower because it was getting dark. Therefore we didn't really see any great views but it was still very picturesque.

Was a wonderful trip up and back, the falls are beautiful. It rained last night so there was a little more water than what would have been. Passing the Falls just to the left there’s a small trail that will go up the mountain side, we went another route 1 mile past. It was beautiful scenery and very quiet. This is a very heavily trafficked trail, and with the erosion and lack of upkeep there are many times that you’re waiting on people to pass. Still a very worthwhile hike and I have to say from the traffic, one of the most popular hikes that I have seen here.

This is an easy-moderate trail and I hiked with my three kids (15 months, 3 year old and 8 year old). The two older ones had no problem finishing the trail by themselves, but I had to carry the little one for the whole time. The trail condition is fair as the first part was paved m, but it got a little bit rocky toward the end. There were a few spots the trail was very narrow and I had to hold my kids tight to make sure they would not fall down. It was a great experience walking up to see the waterfalls. Took us about 2 hours to complete the 1.4 mile trail, but we took our time on our way up. Not stroller friendly at all, so don’t bring your stroller there!

Very nice hike once you get past the falls! Which are beautiful however too many folks! The trail is very peaceful not many people on the trail. It's uphill most of the way, it's marked well to get to firetower. No real views but it is nice and quiet. A few trees down but easy to manurve around, the last .09 to the .01 cut off is pretty overgrown recommend bug spray or long pants.

This trail was fairly easy and had a gradual incline. There were lots of families and young children on the trail so it’s definitely a nice family hike. It was a little more crowded than I prefer but the waterfalls were beautiful and it had several great views of the mountains. The trail was paved the whole way and only took about an hour and a half as we stopped at the falls and went back down.

I was not pleased with the views whatsoever. The waterfall was the highlight of the hike. I wouldn’t recommend going past that point. The waterfall would be great for kids.

Disappointing hike with no Vista at the top. Based on the All Trail reviews we trekked to the top on a hot and buggy day. There were no vistas past the waterfall. Do not go past the waterfall if you are on this hike. We were especially disappointed when we got to the top and saw the fire tower but couldn't get up there.

The waterfall is breathtaking. We continued our hike up Cove Mountains. It isn’t the most scenic hike but a great workout. Would definitely recommend.
