The area is especially busy on weekends year-round and on weekdays during summer. Laurel Branch and the 80-foot high Laurel Falls are named for mountain laurel, an evergreen shrub which blooms along the trail and near the falls in May. The trail is paved and is suitable for strollers.

First time on a trail

Great spot and every reason why it’s rated so high in the like list. Easy trail to walk!

Gradual incline on the way up, well paved trail but edges falling off in some areas as expected over time. Well marked trail. Falls were moving well without recent rainfall.

Nice views and the falls are great. However, although rated as an easy trail, the majority of it is up hill. I saw several people struggling, not prepared for the constant. climb. Take water and take your time. It took us about 40 minutes to reach the falls

Gorgeous trail! Trail is easy but mostly straight up.

Beautiful and uphill on the way to the falls. Worth the visit.

We hiked this trail lady summer. It is a paved trail & even thow is breaking apart in places was still able to navigate my son in his stroller. A very easy trail that offers several scenic views of the smokies along the way & has a nice waterfall at the end. The last 50m or so has a steep drop directly off the trail to the left. Watch out for the black bears we strolled up on 3 standing in the trail on the way out. It is a highly trafficked trail & is great for any skill level.

Great trail, but was told by a park ranger that it would be doable with a stroller... not true! We made it to the last .5 miles then decided to not keep going with the stroller. My older two (7&5) and I finished out the trail while my husband stayed with our youngest. Great, manageable trail, but there are definitely steep drop offs and the path gets narrow and broken up towards the end.

This trail can be difficult to do during the winter because it gets iced over at higher points. During spring and summer, it's lovely. It's easy for avid hikers, and moderate for people who are not avid hikers/not athletic.

Went this morning before 9am. Not too many people compared to coming down after 10am. Wow, what a difference. Very pretty waterfall and very manageable hike.

Beautiful falls and an easy hike for all ages. Wildlife is abundant and there is always something interesting to look out. The trail is a little broken up for the last .25 miles, so just be careful with where you step.

The steep drop-offs made me nervous, but it was a beautiful hike and the waterfall was an amazing destination.

A beautiful short "walk in the woods" Most of the way out to the falls is a gentle uphill and it is only a little more than a mile out. This path is all paved and the hike is good for all ages. Not a lot of parking so you should probably plan on being there early

Nice hike waterfalls worth the hike. You would enjoy it more if you don’t have young children. It was a bit crowded but we expected that.

Took this trail two days ago. Not what I was hoping for. Very very busy. The trail is paved but run down to about 3 feet across. A bit of an incline but manageable. The last half mile could be nerve racking to anyone that don’t like heights. The trail followed a ledge and rude hikers all over that are looking down the whole way and not watching where they are going. Causing people to hug the ledge. For an adult family it’s ok but anyone with little ones please control them and hold the tightly.

The falls were good but we visited at a way to busy of a time which ruined it for us. One infant had pooped there pants and the mother was washing it at the base of the first section of falls. Everyone below got to enjoy. The vehicle traffic was worse to get out. Tourist trap for sure.

Very nice trail, crowded right now due to springbreak.

I knew this was a tourist-filled trail before arriving, but I still wanted to hike it one time and figured a Tuesday in April wouldn’t be so busy because Spring Breaks are over. I thought wrong.

This trail is VERY EASY and paved- though it is not smoothly paved anymore. DO NOT BRING STROLLERS, you WILL regret it. There is up pavement and it is thinly paved in most areas.

It would’ve been much more enjoyable if people were conscious of those around them. Walking 2-3 people wide across a trail that can only fit 2-3 people in addition to traffic going both ways with different speeds of hikers is RUDE. Please for the love of gosh move over for faster hikers and stay to the right.

The waterfall is pretty, but it’s nothing immensely spectacular to draw such a huge crowd.

The falls are quite nice, but this is not a satisfying hike. It’s almost too easy. Paved path, heavily trafficked... not many views other than the falls

Excellent, although busy. This is NOT wheelchair or stroller-friendly.

Beautiful waterfall and some great views from this hike. The trail is paved; going up there's a bit of an incline, but the way down is very easy. Had to park about a mile away due to the crowds, even on a Tuesday in March. Lots of families and small children on the trail.

Great trail for families. My 7 year old did it and loved it. It has areas that have steep hills but manageable.

Easy trail. We had a group of kids ages 4 to 11 and they did fine. The waterfall was great. Normally it’s a busy hike. The parking lot was almost empty, so we decided to give it a go.

Hikes up this 3/22/18 AFTER we finished a 5 mile hike around Cucumber. Was all uphill but worth the 1.3 miles up. Pretty falls!!!
