This park re-opened for day-use visitation between 7am and sunset on April 24, 2020. The public will have access to most trails, boat ramps, marinas, golf courses and other outdoor recreation opportunities. Park facilities and overnight accommodations will remain closed, as will playgrounds and other social gathering places. See here for more info: https://tnstateparks.com/about/covid-19-closures This trail is easy to moderate depending upon your personal physical condition. Plenty of timber types can be found here along with lots of wildlife. Deer, wild turkey, squirrels are most common. Ticks are heavy in warmer months so do plan for use of a repellent. Parking is good here here but be sure to secure items as unfortunately break-ins do also occur here.

Quick 1 mile loop. Nice elevation changes, but not overly steep or strenuous. The forest on this hike is very open, with tall deciduous trees and an open forest floor with beautiful, waxy leaf grasses. We saw frogs, lizards, and lots of butterflies. Great hike for all ages.

Fun little trail. Didn't see anybody else and the birds were singing.

Nice quiet little trail That said, I do want to address what is starting to become a new trend on AllTrails. Trails are rated based on what the trail will require from you, not on your ability to deliver on those requirements. I can grab nana with the walker and oxygen attachment and she will have trouble walking through Walmart. That doesn’t make the soup aisle at Walmart a difficult walk. This trail is easy. It is .7 miles, climbs less than 3 flights of stairs, and you couldn’t find something to trip on if you were dared to do it. It’s easy. Period. Lets just keep the reviews to the trails and leave out the subjective assessments of who might walk them.

A great trail, the loop is just fine right now with the flooding but the trail near the lake is washed out and unable to be used at this time. Met a bunch of nice dogs with ours.

Great groves of hickory, oak, and maple. Undergrowth has tons of dogwood, redbuds, and sassafras.

Very easy trail! Soft dirt trail that’s well kept. Watch out for rocks and stumps that could be possible trip hazards. We hiked it with 3 kids ages 2-6 and they had no issues.

Easy dirt trail. Lots of mayapple popping up. Close to a picnic area and great view of the lake. They had educational signs posted on different trees where you could scan a QR code and listen to a recording and learn about that specific tree's qualities and benefit for the area. Also....what Jeff said.

For this one I'm just going to shut up and tell you to read Jeff's review. I can't put it better, and I think he nailed it in his review.

This trail recorded at 0.7 mile not an actual mile. The trail was very clean and well maintained. There are some interesting rock formations along the trail. There is a slight incline and decline which could be moderate depending on your condition however most will find this an easy trail. Wildlife can be viewed almost anytime here and lots of educational aspects here as well. Fishing and Picnic areas are very nearby as well. Parking offers easy access to the trail. Use caution here though and secure all valuables as many cars have been broken into. Ticks are abundant through out the warmer months so that requires caution as well.
