Gee Wilderness has a couple of trails that take you on a nice quiet hike. The area is damaged by the pine beetle blight on a windy day this would not be the hike to do. You will gain all the elevation in the 1st 3.0 mi. The trail begins by following up an OTV road for 1 and 3/4 miles. At this point you leave the OTV and turn left up a hiker/horse trail, with several deep pits. Since the trail has horse traffic be prepared for mud. From this trail, in winter, you will have good views of the surrounding area and Star Mountain. Continue the up hill trail for 2 1/2 more miles before you descend to Iron Gap. This is a good place for lunch. This area is open to hunters in the fall and spring so be sure to call ahead before hiking or wear plenty of orange just in case.

it's ok. like everyone else says, very rocky most of the trail and horses do this trail. also about 3 miles in, a fresh water stream floods the trail so you have to go off trail. also very thick with brush & trees at times. lastly not really any great views even during winter.

Very rocky trails. Be prepared to lose horseshoes.

Easy trail to follow. No real views, unless you loop back via the Coffee Branch Trail (recommended). I've done the loop twice and ran into the same couple both times!!!

Trail is more of a horse trail. Not many views, and small rocks ....more like hiking on a gravel road. It's 3.5 miles of "up hill" so worse case it's a good work out!

There are much better Trails in this part of Tennessee but this one is good and convenient to the highway. Loose footing and all the horse dung are a little annoying but it's a decent hike and pretty at sunset
