Anderson Quarry side— parking lot and trail we’re very well kept and nice. Super-short loop, but it is definitely a great view. At the end of the trail towards the water, there was a bit of an “encampment” which felt a little sketchy. We would have hung out a little longer to look at the water had that group not been there.

Hard to navigate your way around and pretty sketchy in parts.

It’s a good easy trail. Nice start to the season. Trail could use a little maintenance but understandable under the conditions of the lockdown. Great views of the Quarry at the midpoint.

Starts with lovely overlook of quarry. Short but fairly steep mostly wooded trail down to lake. Short little loop along portion of lake. Good place for dogs to get water. Very scenic. Then back up the same trail to the top.

This is very easy. Toddlers can do it. Park at the first entrance for the full length or drive in a half mile and there are multiple spots. As of 12/30/19, parking lot is finished. No homeless camps that we could see within the park, but there are some during the drive up. No big deal. 4 stars for what could be better trash management.

It is difficult to know where to go since the construction of the parking lot. Was advised that there is a homeless camp 1/2 down on the trail from the first parking lot. I tried to make my way down to the quarry by taking a dirt road and a giant hill. It was littered with garbage and I didn't feel very safe to continue. I may go back when the parking is completed but perhaps with someone else.

There is construction at the entrance to the swimming area, but you can park near there and walk to the swimming area. otherwise you can park at the Chapman entrance and figure out a way to go down and around and get to the swimming area.

The way in according to Google maps was closed due to construction. I came in from the top where the fort actually is located. Walked road to the fort, came back and found trail.

I’ve been going to the Fort Dickerson Quarry for a few years now though this is the first year I’ve started using the trail due to construction. The trail is really fun and really easy as well as pretty short if you’re just hiking down to the quarry. Also beautiful! Only bad thing is it’s extremely crowded in the summer and trying to find a spot at the quarry can be really tough

Great trail to quarry while the other trail entrance is closed. Easy enough and lots of families around.

We started off of Chapman and took trails around the quarry to make it a 2.2 mile hike. Additional trails show on Google Maps. Easy hiking. Good views of the quarry. There is construction in progress for parking upgrades so you have to work your way around that.

The entrance it sends you to is closed for construction, although you can walk or bike around it. Beautiful trail, and the entrance I took was off Chapman Highway. Relatively easy, with some great views at the quarry.

Only walked up to quarry and part way around it as it was greeting dark and I still had to walk back to my hotel (not from the area). The area around the quarry was pretty overall. The walk to the quarry from downtown was nice except the last .3 mile or so as there isn’t a sidewalk.

Not really an interesting hike now but will have potential once completed. Nice scenic area around the quarry though.

To experience the best at this place you need to take the trail from the overlook off of Chapman Hwy on the left side of the quarry. It’s rugged and secluded back there and would probably rank as difficult in many places. Other reviewers are right though that the other people in the area aren’t always the best, but I know a few places to go to avoid them for the most part.

NOT a great place to go if you have kids, or do not want to be around copious amounts of drugs and alcohol. Took our dog with us for a walk, and almost instantly realized how much better our local parks are for this. If you are into drugs, underage drinking, and young trashy girls in skimpy bikinis; then this is the place for you.

Trail itself pretty easy and isn’t bad at all. However, people who visit don’t have enough respect to clean up after their self. Trash all over the place.

Not much of a trail, good if you’re looking for an extremely easy short walk. But the quarry is beautiful

This is a beautiful hike! I loved the views. I wish there were better trail markings and information. It took a while just to figure out where the trail was located.

A nice little city hike. Several nice overlooks too. It would be nice if the city would go in and dispose of the litter and leftovers from campsites of yester-years. I would definitely do it again though, and bring my swimming trunks!

Rock climbing

There's a parking lot where you first enter. If you keep driving down the dirt road it takes you to a second (closer) parking lot. It's a stone's throw to the quarry. Not a hike at all. But the quarry is gorgeous! Beautiful, clear water. Trees. Large rocks to sit on. Perfect venue for a picnic. I went on a busy day. Lots of ppl so maybe that's why I felt totally safe. People were friendly. Everyone had a huge inflatable rubber duckie or blow up floaty of some kind. The quarry water is warm with sudden VERY DEEP drop offs. Be very careful. Ppl giving zero cares were rock climbing up the sides of the quarry then jumping in the water. They had trash and recycling cans out (thank you for recycling!). That may have cut down on the litter others complained about. I didn't see any litter on my trip. Clean & beautiful.

Overall nice little trail/lake with the main path from the parking area leading to some lake access points. Walked around the loop trail with my dog which provided some enjoyable elevation/views of the lake with occasional side trails leading to mainly trashed campsites. The more secluded the trail, the sketchier the surroundings get. Was totally fine for a duder and his dog at 2 in afternoon but probably wouldn't recommend for solo explorers or at night.

We were traveling through Knoxville and needed to get out and stretch our legs for a bit. This was a great walk down to the quarry.
