Potential to be a 5. The State is working to make this State Park Trail more conducive to hikers and runners by restricting motorcycles and ATVs at the Entrances on Hixson Springs Road. Please support them by getting out on this trail. The more it is used by Hikers and Runners the more it supports the State in maintaining this and other areas. Besides the Escarpment view and miles of old logging roads there are miles of other offshoot trails following the creeks in the park. Have fun and help protect the few large tracts of public land reserved for hikers and runners in Southeast Tennessee.

Trail is now open. I would HIGHLY recommend doing this loop in a clockwise direction. There's also no reason to go on the far side of the power lines, unless you're just hunting mileage. I put that it's muddy because it's a 4x4/dirt bike trail, but there's a way around pretty much all of it. It's a moderate trail but if you cut out the part past the power lines, it should be pretty easy

Another beautiful trail around the city, however it does require knowing where you are going a little bit and is primarily ATV roads out to the main flippers Bend Trail by the rim. It has a different beauty than many trails around the area, but it still has a lot to offer and I would recommend visiting if you’ve seen many others already around the area.

Not exactly a "hiking" trail or "lightly trafficked" as described. Maybe it started out that way - now it's just another of the many redneck trails on Signal. All rutted up from four-wheelers. Real mess - there's dozens of little offshoot trails that hikers have created to get around the pools left in the road and now the bikers have begun rutting them too. Wish there were more places on Signal to just walk. Wish that TDEC could afford some law enforcement.
