The Flint Mill trail is very steep and challenging even for an avid hiker but worth the view of the Holston River. It was a beautiful day, as I would not want to get caught on this one in the rain. I tried to continue on the Holston Mountain Trail to the firetower but turned back about half a mile in because the trail was not well maintained and the stinging nettle were terrible.

Very steep climb up to Flint Rock and especially treacherous coming down. I tried to continue past Flint Rock, but turned around due to the stinging nettle and other thorny plants that continuously stuck out into the narrow trail and were impossible to avoid. The view from Flint Rock was beautiful though, and I spent over an hour just hanging out up there.

Super steep for the first mile or so. Well maintained for the most part. Nice trail.
