Nice hike on old railbed. This trail offers views of the gorge, railway tunnels, wildflowers, the sound of gushing Doe River along the way. Well kept by owners.

Probably one of the best views you will ever see with such easy access and limited amount of people. Forms aren't a big deal. The trail just shows a different view of the world.

Really enjoyed hiking with friends here. We were blown away with the views: Gorge, river, railroad, all under snow was truly awesome. We will be back soon. Ang out.

Perfect hiking weather. Great company. Trail had snowy patches but overall clear.

Beautiful!

Nice trail. Be sure to wear good shoes since the railroad gravel can be a little rough on your feet. There are some amazing views of the river below, but not too many easy paths to get to it.

Closed to the public during the summer. Very disappointing after driving to get here

Rails, trails, rocks, rivers, and some history lessons. That's just the short list of things that make Doe River Gorge great.

Loved it! tunnels, railroad tracks, creeks, bridges, interesting objects. Lots of variety on this trail :-)

Pets apparently are not actually allowed abd you must submit a form to hike to the christian ministries that owns the land.

The out and back trail follows 2.5 miles of the old narrow gauge Tweetsie rail line that used to run over the mountains between Johnson City, TN and Cranberry, NC. The trailhead is located at a Christian campground...visitors are welcome during the fall, winter and spring when the camp is not being used. There are wonderful views of the gorge for most of its length. It also passes through two old railroad tunnels. The trail has both mountain beauty and history.
