Dismal Swamp Trail is a 1.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Cypress, Tennessee that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This shows the trail going to the right at the end of the boardwalk and making a short loop which does not exist.

We enjoyed this hike although we may have gone a different way because it was longer than 1.2 miles. More like 2.8 or so. Park in the gravel parking lot, head to the right of the trail sign and follow the blue trail to the tower! My kids loved the tower and view although I would say because of the incline it was not a truly “easy” hike! The board walk was easy and lovely and the trail was very interesting with diverse plants, birds, and terrain.

loved it. the swamp and boardwalk were beautiful.very scenic hike. we love this park and come here often. look forward to doing all the trails.
