Short hike but the waterfall is amazing. Plan to swim. Best on a weekday. Weekends are so crowded it's hard to enjoy.

Beautiful ! Hiking boots or shoes are an absolute must !! Nice easily accessible views from above. If you’re going to hike the downstream trail the difficulty increases dramatically. You will be crossing large bolders and almost everyone will get wet. Protect your phone !!

Awesome trail. Definitely recommend Tevas/Chacos/something with grip that can get wet. Our GSD loves it, too.

The hike to the waterfall is challenging, but absolutely worth it! You'll definitely need to be prepared to get wet.

This is a fun half-day hike. The falls are gorgeous. Do be prepared to get wet as you have to zig zag across the wide creek at least up to your ankle. It was fun to crawl around the falls and explore. We only did the downstream and outlook trail. We had intentions of doing the upstream trail on the way back because it looks like they connect at the falls on the map, but you cannot actually access the upstream trail from the bottom of the falls. The trail is also not clearly marked where you should cross the creek at, so just choose a shallow spot where you can.

One of my fav day hikes. Plenty of swimming holes , water is ice cold year round . Have seen large bass , trout and even gar . Even seen an eagle a few times. Great views , especially in the fall when the leaves turn. There are smaller falls on both sides of the river before the big one especially after a couple of days of rain . Be mindful of the snakes .

Beautiful scenery!! Worth the hike. Wear shoes that you can get wet, there are areas that you have to walk through shallow water to cross the river. Rocks are slippery and you might have to use your hands to help you get across some of the more challenging ones.

The trail is well maintained and the scenery is beautiful. The gorgeous waterfall makes up for the dirty bathrooms. There is ample parking. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet so you can comfortably walk in the water. The rocks are slick! Try to be handsfree so you can scramble over the rocks. Prepare to get wet from the knees down and enjoy the walk all the way to the waterfall. It’s worth it!

The first part of the trail down to the overlook was somewhat eroded and not much to see. However, following the Downstream Trail to the gorge was really nice, scenic, and fairly well maintained. The gorge itself was amazing. Highly recommend!

The falls were impressive and it was a nice break from driving back to Nashville.

Stopped to break up the monotony of the drive from Nashville to Knoxville. It is a short detour from I-40. The Falls trail is short and easy. You don't get a full view of the Falls, but impressive just the same. Definitely made us want to come back to have fun on the rocks and natural pool.
