Cumberland River Greenway is a 11.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Nashville, Tennessee that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, trail running, and road biking and is accessible year-round.
Easy & accessible! Seeing the Chew Crew was also a nice lil treat.
If your feeling adventurous just west of the golf course they put in protected bike lanes on Ed Temple Blvd then turn right on Sr. Walter Davis Blvd by TSU which turns into centennial and takes you right to The Nations where southern grist brewing is immediately on your right, as well as some food options or head on down 51st to H&H brewing 51st deli, midnight oil pizza, or Fat Bottom in the neighborhood too!
All in all a nice greenway to bike or run. Starts out downtown and goes past a few sketchy areas, but once you get along the River it’s a beautiful ride. Even got to see some sheep along the way!
This is a great metro greenway that leaves from downtown nashville and follows the river north for nearly 6 miles before the turn around at a golf course. It’s all paved and flat for cycling or running and well manicured by mowing crews at the path edges and by goats for the embankment to the river. The downtown piece (maybe the first 2 miles) still are in the city, passing city buildings, apartments and warehouses along the river. After that, there are almost no trees since this is a raised greenway (to protect from river flooding), so wear your sunscreen. I see a lot of walkers, runners and cyclists out - but nowhere near an interrupting amount.
