Tree down towards the end. Requires you to side down the very steep hill to get around can be dangerous. Fun but hard hike

Great trail. You are definitely in the middle of a State Forest. Trees are amazing. In its current state, I’d wear long pants. With the severe weather over the past 2 months and the park temporarily shut down, parts of the trail are overgrown, as expected. I only saw 2 people in 8 miles this afternoon.

Beautiful trail but a lot of huge trees down on trails which made it alot harder and very overgrown! But still super pretty wooded trail. Lots of turtles and fish in the lake near by!

Fun trail. Good views on the opposite side of the mountain. Varied ecology and some cool cliffs along the back half.

Definitely a tough hike but well worth it. We only picked up 3 ticks and had a great time navigating through the beautiful ridges and ravines. Be sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks, this will be a long one.

Would recommend! Great climbing with down hill cruising. Trail is very technical in a few sections which is awesome! Cheers!

This trail, for the first roughly two miles, earns its hard rating. I went after a good week of rain in February and it was pretty apparent that it had. There are a few trees down that disappear the trail temporarily, and the mud and muck made it a little sketchy at times, but overall I liked the trail. The views are pretty scarce for a mountain hike, but for the most part this is a fun little trail that's out of the way and quite peaceful. If you want to take your time and enjoy the trail (or aren't in the best shape) I'd allot about 3.5-4.5 hours. P.S. I'd think twice about bringing smaller children on this one. Sometimes the trail gets pretty narrow and a slip could prove to be disastrous to a nice day out with the family.
