Nice walk with the kids. Lots to look at and you can walk right up to the small falls. We went at dusk and finished up right at dark and the kids thought it was great.

My review is from the perspective of an amateur landscape photographer

Cataract Falls is a small waterfall only 0.5 miles from the Sugarlands Visitor Center. An easy trail to hike it leads to a 25 ft waterfall. There are a couple of nice compositions around the base of the falls (but nothing spectacular).

I’ve been there twice and never found it too be crowded despite the ease of the trail and its proximity to the Visitor Center

The major downside is that the water flow drops quickly after the spring rains and may be dry by mid-summer

This is a short walk that would be great for families with young children! It's super easy. The falls aren't the best in the park, but these are easy to access. If you want to do more, the trail continues for like 9 miles on the cove mountain trail. The trail starts on the right of the falls, and I believe you can get to Laurel Falls from there!

Super easy, short, flat, hike from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the waterfall. Small children and the elderly can easily navigate this trail. Follows along a creek with a nice bridge crossover. A nice peaceful waterfall.

It was a nice trail but pretty crowded and the waterfall was small. Great for doing with the kids.

This was a really short, easy hike. As far as elevation gain goes, there’s only a flight of stairs to climb. There are a couple cool bridges along the way and a tree trunk that a small child could easily fit into. It took us maybe 20 minutes to hike the trail one way. For how short it was, it was very rewarding and a nice breather.

Short easy hike following the creek. Houses visible on parts of this trail. OK waterfall. Super crowded. First time my wife & I did this, a bear crossed the trail behind us. We never saw or heard it. Another couple yelled. They showed us a PIC on their camera with the bear close behind us. This is at the Sugarlands visitor center area.

Short family FRIENDLY hike/walk through timber and along a small creek, ending at a 25 foot tall water fall. Water amounts can very per amount of rain. About half way there is a tree with a hole that make a GREAT photo OP with your kids (whatever there age, got one with me, was 66 at the time). Trail starts at Sugarland Visitor Center, turn at restrooms and follow concrete sidewalk to Fighting Creek Nature Trail on your left. Get a trail guide for 50 cents.

Trail isn't stroller friendly, there is a stairway at roadbridge, check at visitor center for short cut trail to falls.
