Some of the bushes need to be trimmed so at times it feels like you are walking through an unmarked trail. Overall, beautiful view and rather easy hike. Dogs are allowed but I'd be careful, the trail gets pretty slim at times.

We would recommend this trail for scenic views, biodiversity, ease in hiking and that it is a loop. If you like mushrooms, you will enjoy the variety here. We spotted 11 different types on the trail. There is some erosion and some parts were muddy, but I managed it in a pair of sandals and no walking sticks.

Great trail but difficult at times and definitely a test of endurance. None of these trails are for the faint of heart but the view at the top makes every tiresome step worth it! I’m in great shape and still struggled at times. Make sure to bring a backpack with water and lunch and eat it at the top on one of the rocks over looking Johnson city! Bring binoculars if you have them!

Challenging but great hike near JC! There are other trails throughout so be sure to keep your AllTrails on :) steep inclines in places, forested with a few great views. Enjoyed it but I like challenges.

Had a great hike, hiked approximately 4 miles didn't quite make it to Tip top wonderful hike excellent veiws. some areas are quite steep and trail is very narrow in areas and a deep gorge if you slip it's a ways down so be careful , safety first. Not to many hikers 5 people and 2 dogs far apart. Will return to explore more.

Hiking

Definitely recommend light pants and not shorts as there is poison ivy reaching out and is unavoidable on the short climb of the Tip Top trail. A nice hike with decent views in the summer but becomes much more open after the leaves fall. If the weather has been dry awhile (no rain in a week or more) you wont see any waterfalls or water at all outside of the Hartsell Hollow which is a trickle in dry periods. All in all a nice heart pumping hike to the highest point in the park.

Parts are over grown, but a good hike. Definitely use the app to make sure you’re going the right way. I got lost a few times without realizing it .

This was a great hike! Beautiful scenery everywhere. There are a lot of different trails so it can get a little confusing since the signs aren’t so clear to hikers. Warning: it is an incline for most of the hike.
