A nice comfortable hike, in the shade, well marked. Huge boulders, several areas to sit down and enjoy a picnic or just simply see the beautiful Big South Fork River. There are several rapids, and when we went, we sat on huge flattened rocks and enjoyed the cold water in our feet. Perfect for children and dogs. What a view!

Fairly level trail but there was a lot of rocks. If you have sensitive feet or weak ankles , beware. The falls is actually not a falls especially when the water is down but the huge boulders are very cool !

Very easy trail with very little elevation change. The falls are the highlight. Nice views but lots of dogs and snakes. Just keep your eyes open. I doubt we would hike this again. Just a change as we typically go into the Smokies but avoided due to the Holiday weekend.

A great trail for beginners, nothing hard about this trail. It follows the water and at the end it takes you to the water. You can go exploring on the rocks for more adventure.

Wasn’t much to see on this trail, but I prefer a higher elevation or overlook. Would be great for kids or beginner hikers.

Nice wide, shaded, flat trail. Washed out in a few places but still passable. Angel “falls” is the best part of this trail with cool bluffs above.

We just spent a wonderful summer afternoon on this trail. While it's only 4 miles out and back, it's worth it to take your time and enjoy the river. We found a nice spot to navigate the boulders and cool off in the water. The trail is not difficult and mostly shaded. There are many little sandy spots that allow you to get in the river. Fun for the whole family!

Easy hike on a perfectly maintained trail with barely even notable inclines. I didn’t take to the reviews before the hike and was disappointed that the ‘falls’ was rapids as others have stated. I still think that the beauty of the rushing water, boulders and cliff lines made it more than worth the trip though!

HikingMuddy

Went late morning after overnight thunderstorms, so trail was a little muddy, but was still pretty easy with 3 kids (ages 4, 7, 10). Kids liked some of the trail bridges over rushing creeks and Angel Falls was nice, but I would agree it looks more like rapids than a waterfall (maybe the river was up).

Beautiful trail located in a gorgeous park. Not really "falls", though. These are rapids. There are some small water crossings and some small "falls" along the trail. Possibly spring fed or weather dependent. I visited shortly after rainy weather. Definitely will return.

Perfect hike for old man recovering from foot injury. Very scenic. River was very low. Watch your step, quite rocky in places. Fun!

Was a pretty decent hike. Very rocky, and pretty washed out at points. I think the moderate rating is accurate. Rickey up hills and downhills with flat sections in between. The "Falls" were little less than a class III whitewater section. Cool rock garden at the end.

This is a great trail to hike if you want to take in river views and beautiful cliffs on the other side. This is not waterfalls, it's more rapids when you get to the end. You do have rocks and boulders next to the river also. Giving it a 5 because it's a good beginner hike.

Easy, mostly flat trail. Rock and root covered. Some parts were muddy with recent rain and a few trees down but very easy to get around. Took our time and enjoyed the butterflies, frogs and flowers we saw along the way!

Enjoyable hike with beautiful scenery. Some places were muddy as it had rained quite a bit but overall a good hike. Also wouldn’t call this a “falls” more of rapids. Still beautiful tho. I took my children. Ages 1, 7, & 10. They had a wonderful time.
