Wow! A group from my trainers gym did this today (06/16/18). We had previously completed a hike to Rocky Top via Lead Cave Trail. The previous hike was brutal, but it gave me a good perspective on this hike.

This hike is great. We took a dip in the water and had lunch at the falls. There are 2 major inclines on this trail, but it allows for adequate recovery. Depending on your physical condition, the last couple of miles back to your car can feel like they will last forever!

This trail is not for beginners!

Very decent hike, although plan an additional mile for the out and back if you don’t buy a spot at the camping site (parking lot location adds about a half mile to get to the trailhead).

Falls were as advertised, nice, medium to small in size.

No complaints with the trail. Wide open then narrow as expected when getting to the falls.

Not much air movement. Plan to go early, as we did to avoid the beating sun.

The river was roaring and the Falls was as strong as I have seen it. Weather was perfect for a 10 miler!
