It was ok, I rained hard for most of half way through until the end of the loop. The scenery was not great but that might probably because of the rain, we could not see much. My biggest complain is that the trail is not well maintained and vegetation is overgrown in some parts. Make sure to wear pants and a long sleeve shirt.

Very nice rainy day hike, moderate is a good description. Plenty of up and down hill to let you know you’ve done something. The biggest problem with this trail is having to deal with the Cade’s Cove deer watchers who can’t read the signs that say “be courteous and use pull offs”.

This loop is made up of sections of the Cooper Road, Hatcher Mountain, Little Bottoms, Abrams Falls and Wet Bottoms trails. All the trails were in great condition except for sections of the Cooper Rd. trail which were overgrown with grassy plants (watch for snakes). The scenery included open forests, dense forests, views of the Abrams Creek from high on the mountain side, some smaller waterfalls and small streams, and of course Abrams Falls. I didn't see other hikers until I got to the Falls. The Abrams Falls trail was crowded between the falls and the trailhead, as expected. The final section of the loop is on the Wet Bottom trail. It's also a pleasant walk. There's an unmarked stream crossing that's easy to miss. The trail appears to continue on without crossing but that was a dead end.

Hike to the falls was beautiful! Bring your swimsuit and jump in. Got there around 9:30am and there was plenty of parking. Trail was not too busy but the falls definitely was. We hiked about a mile past the falls - anticlimactic and lots of poison ivy on that part of the trail. The hike back was much busier as the day progressed. Loved this hike though and totally worth it. 6 kids ages 10-16 did great!

I would recommend this trail to anyone interested in waterfalls. this is one of the best waterfalls in the park (having done them all). it is a well trafficked trail so if youre wanting to enjoy the waterfall in solitude you'd need an early start. it took our group of 9 an hour each way. there is plenty of seating area at the waterfall to picnic and envoy the scenery.

I rated this a 3 because the signs were unclear and for 2-3 miles, there was heavy brush and the trail was poorly kept. After seeing a copperhead, this was very scary not being able to see your path. We saw a buck and many deer and the scenery at Cades Cove at dawn was magnificent. I would recommend taking a map and wear long pants. I think the trail is longer than what is stated, 15 miles at least instead of 12.9.

The trail starts at Abrams Falls parking area. It's typically crowded, until you get pass the falls. You then enter a scenic gorge that is spectacular. Complete the loop for a great tour of the Western portion of the park. Great views throughout the loop.
