Beautiful and fun! Go early to avoid crowds and truly enjoy the scenery. The trail is easy and has lots of opportunities to climb huge boulders.

One of the most fun little hikes I’ve ever taken. Variety and surprises around every corner.

Solid hike. There is some up and down but I’m not sure this trail deserves a hard rating. Enjoyable regardless

The area behind the big rocks through the gulch is best part, best view is clockwise there hand rails to help you up rocks, counterclockwise is easier.

This is a nice hike, we took a two year old and he did most of the hike walking. There were a few parts that it was a narrow fit. Go early or after school has started for little to no traffic.

Lake is beautiful, mostly a trail walk vs a hike. Lots of people and kids and not a lot of masks. Good photo ops of the lake.

So fun! We did this trail after a little snow so it was a little treacherous, but the views were beautiful and so worth it! We have a medium and large size dog that are young and nimble, so they had little problems...but with a older or small dog this trail would be very difficult. Definitely need trekking poles for this one as well, but they do get in the way during the rock scrambles that have railings, so some way to carry them hands free would be beneficial .

Great scenery on this simple hike. We did it as a cool down after Sunday Gulch.

Relatively nice trial. A lot of helicopter traffic and the back end follows the road way, so you have a lot of noise.

Beautiful, family friendly, a little climbing, mostly flat, some shade, some sun, very busy. Great for those who just want a nice, but mildly challenging walk.

This was such a beautiful hike. Short with lots of amazing views. Everywhere you look is awesome. We are a full time RV family of 9. (FindYourCrazy.org). Today we had my wife and I plus our 8, 9, 11, and 11 year old special needs twins. We left our two dogs at home today, but wish we had brought them. Everyone did great. Easy trail with tons of places for the kids to scramble up the rocks. Be sure to bring a bathing suit and take a swim after the hike.

Beautiful views of Sylvan Lake. The trail is mostly a flat loop trail. The back side has a few rocks and stairs to climb over. This trail has spots to swim, climb rocks, see waterfalls, and definitely take pictures.

For Covid safety, do NOT go here. Maybe it was because of the motorcycle convention, but there were still a lot of non-motorcycle people around and no one else we saw on the trail had masks to use when we got close to each other. I also wouldn't recommend because it's an extra $20 to get into Custer state park to do that trail. I'd recommend going to Osprey Lake trail to enjoy a much more beautiful lake and still an easy short hike. If you take away Covid and price, it's decent, especially for families.
