Hike up through the ponderosa pines. On the top of the ridge you will have a great view of Stockade Lake and the Black Hills. With binoculars you can see Crazy Horse Monument.

the map shows this trail outside Custer State Park, however it isnt. you have to pay park fee to go.. $20 per car. Trail is ok and has some uphill at beginning and nice views.

Definitely not worth the hour drive from Rapid City. The trailhead is a minute or 2 drive past the starting point noted on the app. The sign at the trailhead says only 1.2 miles and that's more accurate. My dog and I did the loop twice and took about 1-1/4 hours. Would have given only 1 star, but there is a very beautiful view of the lake and Hills about half way.

This was a beautiful, relatively easy trail. We did it with our three kids and they loved it too! Such amazing views! Glorious!

Good trail with steep hill at first. Good views, just under 1.5 miles. Quick.

It's a lot of going up and down. It was nice variety and beautiful views. It was mostly a rock trail, so you have to watch where you're going. I would like to do it again!
