Spirit Mound Historic Prairie trail features a prominent hill on the Great Plains that has historical significance as Lewis & Clark visited the site on their journey west. It goes from the southeast corner of the restored priarie to the pinnacle of the small hill overlooking the surrounding plains.

We hiked to the top . it's where Lewis and Clark viewed buffalo and other wildlife during their expedition .Alot of history in the area. Nice little hike

My first hike and it was perfect for a beginner - a tiny bit of a challenge with the hill, but overall an easy little hike. Very enjoyable and a great view.

This trail affords one a great view of the Missouri River valley from its peak. It is easy to imagine the isolation Lewis and Clark must of felt hundreds of miles from civilization. A definate stop of your interested in history.
