Osprey Trail is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Rapid City, South Dakota that features a lake. The trail is good for all skill levels offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

From Rapid City take Highway 44 west to the junction with Highway 385. Turn to the south and travel 2.8 miles to the junction with FSR 258 just past the Pactola Visitor Center. Travel west on FSR 258 for 1.4 miles to junction with FSR 545. Take FSR 545 for one mile to the trailhead.

beautiful, peaceful, wooded hike by lake. some hills. I'd say not quite easy.

Beautiful scenery! I didn't give it a five only because it's fairly high traffic and all the boats on the lake make it not very secluded.

Best for hiking but a really good mountain biker could manage it. Beautiful views of Pactola Lake. It really is on the easy side. No hiking boots needed. I did have an up close encounter with a deer.

Very easy family friendly hike. Both loops averaged to around 3.5 miles. There are some beautiful views of Pactola Lake and a couple benches along the trail to enjoy them.
