Nothing per se wrong with this mini hike, but crowded and political, as in close proximity, banner picture taking with a certain candidate. Plus side is you must wear a mask to get in the cafe—so that’s a lot less crowded.

Nice short hike, and pretty crowded (as you would expect). Be prepared for stairs up and down.

If you enjoy lots of stair climbing, go counter clockwise. A clockwise route avoids most upward stairs. Pass the Carver’s Museum and take the elevator to avoid the final staircase to the amphitheater area.

Beautiful, went in the morning. Not many people which made it nice. If you do the left portion it’s easier to get to the viewing platforms

Worth the walk to get so many different views of the faces. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Go early and you can avoid crowds. We were there around 7:30am and only encountered a couple of smalls groups on the trail. Lovely!

Beautiful trail, not heavily trafficked since most tourists don’t go past the amphitheatre.

This was a great little hike. Easy boardwalk all the way with close up views of the monument and rubble pile. There are a good number of stairs so be ready for that. Once your done you have to try the Thomas Jefferson I’ve cream! It’s amazing! We are a full time RV family of 9. (FindYourCrazy.org). Today we had my wife and I plus our 19, 8, 9, 11, and 11 year old special needs twins. We left our two dogs at home today, Everyone did great.

Helicopters ruin the serenity. The trail is well maintained but does have a lot of stairs. For an easier go, turn around before the massive downdraft in stairs.

Scenic drivingGreat!

This trail is best experienced with the audio tour. There are several stopping points along the way that give you information on Mt. Rushmore. The trail can get quite crowded. There are several stairs to go down but the path is easy to walk.
