Poorly marked and all uphill, which is fine if you know about it before hand. Limited views due to the tree density. Be prepared to be checking your GPS or trail app out constantly or you will get lost.

About five miles of the trail is mostly uphill, and that would be fine if there were views. But the trees block most of what you can see. It’s extremely difficult to stay on the trail unless you’re using the map the majority of the time because what you think is quite obviously the trail actually is not.

It was essentially all fire road except in the beginning and end. I think the 4.2 mile tamarack trail loop is better and a bit steeper. Wish I had worn running shoes - would have been a decent run. My dog loved it;)

We started out in one direction, but the map was showing a turn off that we could not find so... we just backtracked and went the other way! We didn’t do the whole loop, but def a worthwhile trail.

I was looking for a good jogging trail and this one fit the mileage I was looking for. It’s not marked and portions are easy to make the wrong turn. Very little level spots along this loop as well so I don’t recommend it for jogging. There are certain stretches where you will be forced to walk in tall grass. Watch out for ticks, I found one on my leg after the jog.

First to Review

Trail was dry and open with only a few trees blown down across it. Overall a great trail to explore below Pactola dam.
