Good little hike. Pretty rocky and not a lot of shade. The creek is pretty, but does dry up fairly early in the hike.

Nice walk through a pretty canyon area along a picturesque stream. Not sure if one of the little baby waterfalls in the stream are supposed to be the promised "waterfall" on this hike or if I just didn't make it far enough to see the real thing since there doesn't seem to be an obvious turnaround spot--eventually the water dried up and I was just walking next to a dry creek bed, then the trail met up with what looks like a Jeep road so I turned around at that point. Good birding--I got to see the famed American Dipper!

No Waterfall. Nice steady climb. Redundant.

Very scenic trail. We went early June and the weather was great! Not overly traved when we went.

Great trail easy out and back. Heavily traveled and lots of families with kids. Waterfall payoff at end.

Nice trail. Beautiful scenery - will be beautiful in the fall. Not much of an elevation gain.

BEAUTIFUL trail not to be missed! Highly recommend if in Spearfish Canyon! The description of what you will see is spot on! We went Mar. 24...river was flowing and the snow melt made this especially pretty. We hiked w/snow boots.

Lovely winter trail. We hiked it without snowshoes and it was just fine though there were plenty of snowshoe hikers and some people on fat bikes too. I'd definitely hike it again.

Beautiful trail in the fall. Runs parallel to a stream; a slow incline moves walkers from next to the stream to many feet higher in the air. The path is rocky so thick soles will be helpful. Lots of good photo ops.

This is a beautiful trail and a great place to take pictures that include soaring rock spires and a tumbling crystal-clear creek in a pine/birch forest. The trail head is located along the Spearfish Canyon Highway and is well marked. It has a pretty consistent but not demanding incline -- at its start, the trail is about five feet higher than the creek. . About a mile in, the trail is about 40 feet above the creek. An easy walk and great picture opportunities.

this is a great trail! for extra adventure continue the extra distance to the lake or just to Tinton Road! One can make life easier, start at the tinton side and go downhill and arrange a pick ride on the hwy 14 side. cell service is spotty or not at all. easy walking. elevation changes a bit. we also snowshoe this trail in the winter!

This was a great hike along a stream, very quiet and not many hikers. Take this one if you want a nice simple hike to finish the day.

Beautiful views and an easy walk. The surrounding area is stunning, too. It’s a bit short, but as many said, you can navigate a bit beyond the barbed wire and add some distance if you like.

Nice trail along Iron Creek. Barb wire fence at top, but we went past it and found other hiking trails. Pretty creek views and great for dogs.

Overcast and 65 degrees, couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The creek is relaxing to hear the whole hike and there are some beautiful small waterfalls to stop and admire. My 3 year old was able to walk the whole thing. We'll be back!
