Very fun hike to do! The water crossings are a little intimidating with a toddler in structured carrier, but is definitely doable. There are many beautiful spots to stop and lots of wildlife! We were not able to finish as the crossing towards the end (logs included) were just too much to do.

I love this trail. It is an easy, but beautiful trail with many stream crossings. My dog loves it as well.

Solid 2 miles one way/4 round trip. We only did because we had two small kids who were nearing naptime. I would cut this walk in half by parking at the General Store and walking the 2 miles through the more wooded section.

Easy and peaceful. Pretty little streams and dam crossings throughout. It felt like the setting of a Disney movie. We accidentally startled a few white tail deer who were grazing in the middle of the trail. We hiked at dusk.

This is a very nice hike running along a creek. Multiple creek crossings. Easy trek for beginners and this with young kids.

Ran this down and back. Short but engaging trail with some beautiful spots along the stream. Also saw and heard several bird species

Beautiful trail that crosses creek several times via sturdy footbridges. Well worn and easy to traverse, with a nice, gradual climb when traveling northward. Combined this with the Creekside Trial for a daily workout from the State Game Lodge during our family vacation. Highly recommend.

The trail was nice and perfect for a Saturday hike. The best scenery was at the end when we reached center lake. The wildlife was pretty scarce but that was probably due to the time of day we hiked at. We did see lots of fish, turtles and frogs in the different fishing ponds. This trail is great for anyone who wants to pack up a picnic and have a great day in Custer state park

Very nice trail. Foot bridges were easy to get across and waterfalls and trees were beautiful. We went in late April so bathrooms in the camping area weren't open so we had to wait to get back to the lake to use the restroom. Beautiful area. There is a charge for being in the state Park though. We had a ticket on our car when we returned.

Nice easy hike - almost flat trail that follows a creek for several miles. When we did the trail, all the simple foot bridges were in place and we never had to walk in water. Several large ponds served as reflecting pools and provided opportunities for great photos of trees and cliffs. Several individuals were fishing along the way with various degrees of success.

Great walk. Change of pace from other types of trails in the Black Hills. Flat along the creek many water crossings a lot of rain lately so many of the crossings that had foot bridges were washed away. We counted 15 water crossings and nine of them you had to get in the water to cross.

Really a nice relaxing day hike. Quite easy but lots of waterfalls and crossings. We did this after Lovers Leap and was a nice change. Lots of people and dog friendly.

a good easy hike with several stream crossings making it tricky at times. This is on an old road serving the several fishing ponds along the path. The bugs were thick when were were hiking. just not my cup of tea.
