Nice hiking trail shared with mountain bikes and trail runners. Stay on wide track at start- don’t follow foot trail marked to the left as that will just take you down rabbit trails and dead ends. Keep dog on leash for safety of dog and mountain bikers.

Very beautiful hike and there was only few people on the trail. But if you decide to spend a day by the lake, be prepare to pay for a permit.

Little elk creek turns in to Dalton Lake trail once you hit the white rock road about 3 miles into it. The last .3 miles is all road, not trail, so that's a little less than ideal, but still a beautiful hike.

This is the same trail listed as Little Elk Creek. It follows the stream and has several pretty little waterfalls.
