The Scout Trail is a 2 mile loop beginning and ending in the parking lot of the park ranger's station at Poinsett State Park. Along the trail, you will go through the designated primitive camping area of the park, as well as the Overlook Shelter which offers a stunning high point view overlooking portions of the park and the surrounding Manchester State Forest.

Nice park, be cautious driving in the road is full of large pot holes. The trails are nice and marked fairly well. Just enough incline and ruggedness to rate it moderate but plenty of flat stretches to get a little running in.
