Saluda Riverwalk is a 7.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Columbia, South Carolina that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Accessibility: This asphalt, concrete, and wooden boardwalk trail is estimated to typically be at least 5 feet wide. The slope is estimated to usually be moderately steep and range from -6% (downhill) to 6% (uphill) grade. The may be a very steep section at about the 4.0 mile mark, just south of the Candi Lane trailhead. However, this area is a raised wooden boardwalk. Use your best judgement if using mobility equipment to navigate. There are at least 2 ADA-compliant car parking spots with an access aisles at the paved trailhead lot.
Great trail for families! We always pack lunch and enjoy it on one of the many picnic tables. So much fun!
A great hike along the river. The trail to the south was open today.
Loved the trail except it’s cut off right as you cross the large bridge because of the sewer issues...but other than that, beautiful trail. Will definitely come back!
On a typical day, I’m sure this would be a four or five. But today, the restrooms were closed, the boardwalk to the south was closed due to a sewage issue (a park ranger told me they have a problem manhole cover whenever there are heavy rains, which there had been for days), and the parking lot was closed. For runners needing to extend their run, my recording shows the route along the road and through all the zoo parking lots, allowing me to go about 9 miles.
