Took little man out here this past week, entering the trail is a little rocky as it’s old pavement and a bit steep. The trail itself is gravely and well maintained. We followed the sign directing us towards rapids/mill ruins. Roughly three quarters of a mile in I got bad vibes so we turned around. But that wasn’t so bad as at the beginning of the trail you can access the creek which was fun for little one to splash and play. Never got to the waterfall or ruins.(((edit))) after looking through the photos others have posted just know the sign at the trail head does not have the waterfall sign any longer! So go left for the waterfall

The waterfall was an unexpected surprise, otherwise not much that held my interest. It was a nice walk, not hike, by a creek.

To preface this, I turned around and didn't continue hiking… But this wasn't what I would consider much of a hike. It was a flat gravel trail next to a seemingly sedentary creek, perhaps the water is lower than usual? Oh and grab a stick… unless you want some spiderwebs in the face! I'm going to check out Catawba area instead! Happy Hiking!

Awesome, well kept trails with good view of swimmable water. You can also put in a kayak at the beginning of the trail head.

The trail is along the river. Therefore very flattered. Also very open. It's very quiet and our dog really enjoyed it but got muddy.

We hiked toe 2.8 mile round trip part to the south of the trailhead. The signs say 1.4 miles round trip but if you take the trail to where it ends its about twice that far. It's a pretty hike along a slow moving creek. About half way are some Rapids where you can walk out into the running water on large rocks. The main downside to this hike was: 1. A little muddy. 2. Spider webs all over. Apparently this trail is rarely used and we fought large spider webs the whole way. Find a long stick and wave it around in front of you as you go!
