Apple Maps takes you to a spot past the trailhead in Greenville watershed area which doesn’t allow parking. I missed the trailhead on the way in and went .7 miles further down the road to another Palmetto Trail entrance. Fallen leaves made the trail a little tough to see and there are only sporadic yellow blazes and signs. Don’t get confused with orange blazes and posts which mark the NC/SC state line. Had slight view of a ridge due to leaf fall and generally pleasant walk in the woods.

I’m new to North Carolina and didn’t want to venture far from where I live for my first hike on my own. Also, my first time using All Trails, so that being said when the app says 3.3 miles, out and back trail I had thought this would be a good start. The trail itself is beautiful, no spectacular views just a trail through the woods in all of Mother Nature’s glory. I didn’t see many people at all on the trail, on my way back there were quite a few mountain bikers on the gravel part of the trail.
