Paleo Hiking Trail is a 1.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Parksville, South Carolina that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Scenic short nature trail through hardwood forests. Wildlife like whitetail deer and fox squirrels can be seen on the trail.
Nice little trail in the woods. Kind of boring. No views of the huge lake nearby.
it’s a good trail for what it is. it’s too close to the road for my liking, and you could hear cars on the entire trail. some mud and down trees but nothing difficult to cross. very well marked.
This is a super short loop trail at the campground. The trailhead is accessible by the General Store. We did see a small spur about halfway down the trail which I took a photo of and is listed under my recording. This would be a good spot to access the trail if you are staying further down into the campground. We were camping at tent site 129 and had we not been leaving for the day we would have just hiked from there and taken that spur into the loop trail. There were several trees down across the path, but they were easy to navigate around. We also walked out to the front entrance sign so we could grab our Ultimate Outsiders challenge photo by the sign.
Parts of trail were not clearly marked. Was very easy to get turned around if you weren’t paying enough attention
