Relaxing, peaceful hike thru a beautiful forest; Oconee Bell viewing in spring This is a great trail for families and those who wish to see the 'rare' Oconee Bell. They have guided hikes around April to catch them in bloom. Otherwise great trail through hardwoods and by a lake to keep your attention/interest.

It’s actually 1.5 miles, but a lovely loop walk with changing elevation, lots of blooming mountain laurel (there in May), and a lovely creek and pond.

Great nature trail. The Oconee Belles were blooming which made the hike special as this is one of the few places in the world that this flower can be found.

My pup and I went for the other trail that we didn’t know was closed so did this one for a morning warm up. It was clean and nice, definitely a nature trail but if you paid to put your boat in and want a midday break this is the perfect place.

Great and short trail once you find it! Must be fantastic in March when the flowers bloom ( I have my calendar marked for next year).

The oconee bell bloom in March is not to be missed. The trail is an easy walk through a well marked wood land.

hiked this trail yesterday. lots of exposed roots from all the rain but very easy. boardwalks were new and the trail is nicely kept. I am definitely doing this one again soon.

This a great quick and easy trail for all ages. We went with a big group of friends including four kids 3-4 years old and had no problems at all with the trail. Everyone still had enough energy to go and play by the lake for an hour after we were done!

Be sure to check out my video of this trail to see how it looks! https://youtu.be/2c8wyl4aB3M This was a great little hike. Close to the visitor center, this little trail will take you under an hour to hike. You start by crossing a small bridge and then going down hill. Here you can see some ocanee bells, the flower that makes this trail special (there is a sign for it). You then hike up the hill to get back to the parking lot.

Nice easy trial. A little over grown in areas for our small kids. Over all very nice and Joccasse is always beautiful.

Easy, peaceful hike. Just posted a couple of pictures of the oconee bells as that is why I went. Of course they only bloom for a very short time in late March. Other than that, (for March) there's not alot in bloom, and the trail is somewhat uneventful. However, the Park does a great job with marking the types of trees, and there is a beautiful cascading creek, and a couple of historical markers / pond along the way. I'd hike again in the fall.

This trail is absolutely wonderful if you specifically want to see the Oconee Bells in bloom. The small creek and waterfalls are tranquil as well. This is a nature trail (not a hike) and has explanatory placards regarding the vegetation. I enjoyed it very much!

I liked swimming in the clear lake surrounded by the mountains. The fish would come up and bite me though and the blowflies bit me out of the water too. You can swim at your own risk there without any restrictions. There are just two short trails there.

Great for little ones, not a hard hike. We went as a large family, little ones to grandparents! Beautiful Oconee Bells and a fabulous view of majestic Jocasee.

Devils fork state park can be a bit too domestic for those looking for a challenging hike or an escape from civilization. On the other hand the park is great for bringing along the kids and relaxing on the lakes shore. The facilities are top notch and very clean. All in all this is a great park and more adventurous trails are nearby.
