Beautiful day. Surprised at few people on trail. Had to cut it short but the few miles I did were beautiful
Beautiful park, easy trails (but watch for roots) and babbling brooks. What else does one need!
The trail shown above is not the complete bike trail. There are separate bike trails, horse trails, hiking trails, and a dirt access road. It can be confusing with all the trail intersections and no maps. I have mapped out the bike trails as an inner and outer loop being 8.4 miles. The trail above only reflects the outer bike loop. There are also some private horse trails that link in from some stables to the south.
lower half of the main trail (the road). Then the trail in the back that leads to a lake. then took one of the hiking trails back (the one thats behind the picnic area) to the parking lot.
This is a great place for exercise. they have a 4 mile gravel loop trail that you can drive, walk, horseback ect. throught. I really like it beacause I was able to take the stroller when my kids where younger. My dog loves it too! The lower side of the trail (the first two miles) has a creek running along it and is my favorite part of the walk. There are also foot trails throughout the main loop. ...Long story short take the family they'll love it.
This was a fairly disappointing outing. The trails are lightly traveled and not marked well, at all! I tried to follow a track and found myself constantly ending up on the gravel roads. Eventually I found an entry point and made my way through but decided to cut my hike short and make my way back to the car. This area has loads of potential if someone would take the time to mark the trails and clear up the blowdowns. Otherwise, I could see someone getting lost in here.
