The Loop Road Trail at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia is a part of the other bike and walking trail system. The Loop Road Trail is well marked and is characterized by a sand/dirt surface. Some of the sand is loose as on a beach but most of it is packed well and easy to walk on. The trail is a loop that circumnavigates the lake but the lake is not a feature of the trail. There are opportunities for wildlife viewing (deer in particular) and there are pine trees lining most of the trail. There are also areas of wide open sunlight so the trail can be quite hot in the summer as the sun reflects off of the white sand. The open areas are approximately 20% of the total trail length so it's much easier to walk in the morning before the afternoon baking Columbia sun warms up the sand. The pine trees are quite tall and beautiful and the trail is very quiet.

good trail to get a mild hike in. Fairly level, but recently the extreme rains have carved gullies and trenches into the roadway. This is not a path in the strictest sense of the word but more of a road. Also, after you leave the last shelters there are no markings. it is easy though, when you get to a fork in the road go left and then continue straight from there. You will end out on the road in and out of the park , you can go down the road itself or you can cut across the parking lot and take the blue mark bike trail. the only reason I gave this four out of five was because it is not marked at all after the shelters

Great trail near my home. Sandy, mostly double track, moderate dog/walking traffic. Good speed trail.

great trail, but there was a detour. The original trail does not have any markings and that could be confusing.
