Running

Not too busy, but bikers make running here difficult. Too many bailouts.

HikingGreat!

If you have never hiked in the mountains this trail is the next best thing. You cross a lot of small to moderate bridges and streams. There is enough uphill and downhill to give you a good workout. Nice views of the lake.

Easy trail, but the length makes it moderate. Great trail if your looking to put in some miles.

I would rank this as easy. The only thing that makes it moderate is the distance if you do the entire loop. There are some good views of the lake and it’s a pretty hike.

Great trail. Well maintained. Took me about 3 hours to complete the loop. That’s with a couple breaks for me and my dog. Good for bikes I suppose. There were a lot of them out there today. Not bad for being only 15 minutes from me. Will definitely come back!

RunningGreat!

Definitely enjoyed the trail, beautiful scenery and the trail was in great condition. narrow pretty much throughout and have to veer off trail a bit due to mountain bikers. I ran the loop clockwise and seemed more elevation gain that way but all in all the hills were pretty much gradual with only a couple steep parts. Will definitely be running this trail more in the future.

We needed a break from a long drive up 85-North, and this is just a few minutes off the interstate. Took the left fork and walked about 2 miles out, then back. The dog loved it! Great lake views.

Great trail. First time on it today. Numerous muddy areas, primarily due to bikes in low areas. My GPS showed 7.84 miles round trip (parking lot to parking lot)

Mountain bikingMuddy

We loved this trail! Went mountain biking with my boyfriend and dog and generally had the place to ourselves aside from a few friendly mountain bikers in passing. Trail is mostly shaded but there are a few spots that are good to stop for a picnic. A little muddy in some areas but all manageable for a moderate skill level biker. Beginners could do this trail but would have to walk some portions. Was definitely worth the hour drive.

HikingGreat!

We spent three hours walking here and it was fairly easy. The weird part was when the trail left the lake/woods and we walked along the road beside the dam and through a field for a long while with no shade. Unexpected. The lake views and wildlife were plentiful! More bikers than hikers.

Good walk to kill time. Only thing that is bad about the trail is the heaps of house trash . Go right at the split for a mile , go down the hill and you'll see. Looks like people back up to the hill with a truck and Toss it.
