At higher elevations the tree cover is more sparse and the trail becomes much rockier. There is a 1 mile roundtrip spur trail that leads to the top of Browns Mountain (1,045 feet) and a campsite at Garner Creek.

Nice, easy trail. Shuttled vehicles at KMSP and boulders access parking lot making this a nice 4.4 mile one way nature walk, not a 8.8 mile hike.

Wonderful state park with amazing and helpful rangers and staff! None of the hikes are hard and they are all pretty scenic. This is a nice little trail that you follow the stream on and can choose to split off and go to the living homestead and see all the animals and buildings and then come back to the trail. Wonderful trail for families and animals!
