A nicely wooded up and down hike along the Saluda River. Be aware that the trails close at 6pm.

Jones Gap Falls is not a robust waterfall but it's very pretty and the hike along the Middle Saluda is worth it on its own. The trail is pretty rocky and can be quite wet(as in, streams across the trail) depending on the recent rainfall. You should go past Jones Gap Falls so you can see the nice cascades on the river and eventually Toll Road Falls about a mile on.

One of my favorites. Longer than it is hard, but beautiful at all parts. Very busy on weekends.

A party of 11, plus two dogs. Kids 8-14. The first part (Jones Gap Trail from Raven Falls parking lot) was a breeze because it was downhill the whole way. 1.3 miles in we stopped at a waterfall and ate. 3.5-4 to the Coldspring/Kimball junction. Bill Kimball trail was aggressive especially carrying my small dog up the side of a mountain. It was an adventure tho and I would do it again!

Jones Gap is an easy to moderate trail with rushing streams, beautiful waterfalls and plenty of backcountry campsites. Falls Trail will put you to work, but Rainbow Falls is worth the climb.

If you're hiking during or after heavy rain, you may encounter high stream crossings on the way back to the trailhead.

Took this trail to the water fall then came back and connected to rainbow falls trail. Easy hike but rocky. Falls were nice. Get there early as suggested.

Great hike! Depending on rain you might get your feet wet but beautiful start to finish and not too crowded.
We did Cold Spring to Jones Gap, then the little .7 back to parking. Going this way crazy uphill on that .7.

Awesome day hiking with my uncle. The trail is well maintained-parking can be an issue so get there early.

Beautiful trail! We spent the weekend camping off of this trail and hiking the many trails in the area. We will definitely be back!!!

Went there in 2014. Big bubbling creek and 2 water falls. Great trails. Best place I've been hiking and camping beside the creek. Beautiful! Love to go back if traveling down that way.

Great day for a looonngg hike! Parked in the Mountain Bridge lot. Made the loop counterclockwise but doubt it mattered which way you go. Took the 1.6 mile spur up to Rainbow Falls. Strenuous climb almost like a mini-Table Rock but well worth. The Fall was partially frozen and was a beautiful payoff. My app had the loop at 13 miles, took about 6 1/2 hrs.

Great trail but get to the park early otherwise you have to wait for ages due to minimal parking

Hiked five miles in to camp site 011. Had a blast. Parts of the hike are very strenuous; especially in wet conditions. Waterfalls and rapids galore. Highly recommend.

Hiked half of the trail with some friends (for #optoutside) who's ages varied from 31 to 63. The trail is very rocky which makes it a bit tricky underfoot at times, but overall, it's a solid easy to moderate trail. (Of course that's considering only the first half). The river and the falls that the trail runs next to are beautiful and the trail is very well maintained. Go early... The parking lot is small and fills up quickly.

love this section, always beautiful an the local rangers keep the trail well mantained.

We didn't get to the park until 3 today and didn't realize they closed the trails at 6. We started the JGT at the ranger's recommendation and just calculated a turn around time and ended up hiking out to the JG Waterfall (which was really pretty!) and then a few more miles past it out and back. The trail is easy with one or two very brief steep parts. It follows a large creek for the first few miles. It is a very peaceful, and wasn't busy at all when we were there. Lots and lots and lots of rocks on the trail, which adds some texture to the trail. Our girl (a mountain curr/shepherd mix) absolutely loved it too! There is a nice bridge and some pretty nice views, though nothing really high up. Very good if you are looking for a peaceful, low impact trail. The ranger was also really really helpful and nice!

Started Jones Gap Trail #1 at Jones Gap Park and finished Jones Gap Trail connecting to Tom Miller Trail #2 ending at Caesar's Head. The creek was full and flowing and the falls were flowing also. We did not meet up with other hikers until about the last mile prior to trail #2. While on trail #2 passed a group of 5 hiking in to over night camp at around camping spot 14. Would do this trail again, and would probably camp over night also.
