Good for hot summer days with kids. very quick walk to the falls, and a short climb down to the base where everyone can cool off. It does get crowded during season time, though.

Short walk to a beautiful view of the falls, and a fun downward climb with my 10 year old to see the falls up close!

Short walk to see the falls without too much effort. I've been sick the past few days, so that is wonderful!!

Not a "hike". The scramble down to the base of the falls is just plain FUN! There were plenty of small children and old folks like me hanging out at the base. The Falls are spectacular!

Beautiful waterfall! And during this time of the year the leaves on the trees look amazing!

It's a steep climb down to the bottom of the waterfall but it's a short walk and a pretty waterfall!

Nice to see but the trail to the base of the falls is very dangerous. I recommend observing the falls from the platform.

The size of the waterfall and the Cherokee legend of the girl named Issaqueena makes this waterfall even more fascinating. However, unless there has been ample rain don't expect alot of flow. You will read that it's an "easy" hike. This is to the overlook deck which would be a waste unless it's winter as trees would block the view. In order to truly see the waterfall you must desend down. It's a fairy short hike but can be quite dangerous if you're not in shape. Use hiking poles, roots, your butt, whatever!

The falls were absolutely gorgeous. It's a little treacherous to get to the bottom, but worth the extra angle. Locals hang out at the bottom like a swimming hole. The Blue Ridge Railroad hiking trail is nearby, so that was a plus.

Nice little walk. Usually stop here when I'm in the area. Only a small portion can be seen from the platform this time of year due to trees. You'll need to climb down the trail below the platform to see all of the fall. Always crowded. Stumphouse Tunnel is very close by.

The first portion of the Issaqueena falls has a platform that overlooks the falls. I went during June and the trees were very full and blocked most of the view of the falls. If you decide to hike down to the ground level of the falls it is short but very steep. I would say it is definitely worth your time and a great place to take the whole family. I actually went with my grandparents once and they thoroughly enjoyed the platform look out.
