Nice trail through maritime forest, a little sandy though towards the end, but overall a great trail with nice views of pond
The trail was easy to hike and the views from the trail were good. It's good for beginning hikers even on hot days as much of it is shaded.
Plenty to do. Check out the alligators at the causeway. Check out the birds in the marsh. Check out the beach. Well worth the admission to the park!
Very nice. Enjoyed looking for alligators
Very peaceful and quiet part of this tourist town. Gorgeous live oaks all around you. Best time is week days in the fall
short 1.25 and back trail. easy. nice in woods.
hiking the trail with a bunch of young kids. they loved it. lots of different birds and trees to see. beach was lovely for finding shells.
We enjoyed the bike ride on the trail, how ever being that the trail connects to a community there were ample amounts of kids causing trouble at a small wooden bridge, even trying to bully money out of us to get across!..spotted an alligator in the parks swamp, haven't been around for sunset but would love to see the sun setting over the marsh..but we only completed from the parking lot up the ride along side the highway portion to where it went into houses and turned back.
This state park is really pleasant! The hiking is easy enough for small children and pets, but offers a real 'back-woods' experience. Lots of water views and a few boardwalks really get you close to the marshland habitat. We went during the winter on a beautiful sunny day and it was comfortable, even for the 'off-season'. If you are heading to the Myrtle Beach area, do yourself a favor - escape the busy tourist locations for a beautiful stroll through a fine state park.
Nice because of direct beach access where their is a pier and facilities. I like to walk down from the beach from the busy hub above it to this more private location. It is flanked by camping and this is a good site to park and have walking an d beach time if you want to extend that last day after checking out of the hotel. The bathroom facility is maintained and there are outdoor showers for sand. The shop at the pier has a posted wi-fi code so a traveler can get their bearings. I have never seen this place crowded, usually it is almost deserted.
