The trail is nice but walk down towards the water and take a right for a nice water trail loop. About 1.5mi extra

The Nature Trail was easy and kid/family friendly. Simple playground, but was nice for my 7 year old to play on after we were done with the trail.

Trail is peaceful, quiet, relaxing. Nothing is spectacular about the trail, except for the connection to nature. It’s not a busy trail, and that means you’ll likely not run into many people. The trail is designated to go in a loop in a certain direction meaning you’ll likely not encounter people head on during the loop portion. Take time to go sit by the lake and appreciate that too!

Easy and peaceful trail - didn’t see another person on the trail. No alligator sightings... trail beside the lake is also very nice.

Very easy trail. Mostly flat with a mix of sand and dirt. It was well maintained and the surrounding brush was not overgrown. No views or notable landmarks while hiking make for a simple walk in the woods. You may see some wildlife such as birds or snakes.

the trail starts behind the playground which is to the left of the office. A very nice a small hike, nothing spectacular, just a nice short enjoyable hike. be sure to walk to the right and take the small path that goes just a short bit around part of the lake. It does not go all the way around.

well maintained hard packed and sandy trail. Trail winds through a pretty forest near the lake. I walked, but this would be good for running or biking.

short trail taking about an hour to walk. If you like trees, then there are several numbered for you. Make sure to get a pamphlet at the trail sign because the trees are the only real points of interest. I also recommend you walk down the other mini trail beside the lake as it has more to see than the trail itself.

grab a paper trail map at entry, because this short hike has several trees labeled for you to learn it's proper name. State park was there removing falling trees across the path... well maintained. easy hike with minimal elevation, does not go around the lake, like I first thought.

Hiking

Nice and easy walk through the woods. The trail is well marked and nicely maintained. Not much foot traffic there today. The trail is very nice but in my opinion the highlight of this state park is the Mill Pond and it's cypress trees. There is another trail in the park to the right of the parking lot that borders the pond for a good distance. It's only about 1-mile round trip (lollypop loop type trail) but the views of the pond are excellent. If you're at the park do them both to maximize your enjoyment of it.
