Moderate trail with a few steep spots/stairs but nothing too strenuous. Nice lookouts across the gorge on the way. Saw a few pretty big bear tracks along the trail. The spur trail to The Narrows is a must-do. Awesome view from the lookout.

Enjoyed this trail for a quick little jaunt through the woods! Definitely suggest taking the narrows trail to checkout the ready beautiful waterfall at the end.

Great hike with the pups! Nice wide trail that was well marked. Once we got the stairs, the trail got much narrower, but still manageable. Pretty views.

Very unremarkable. Between humans and dogs, picked up at least 30+ ticks. Long moderate trail, very muggy with limited views until the very end. Falls were a nice end-reward.

Nice trail, well maintained and blazed. Like many others have said, it’s more on the moderate side. The hike back has most of the elevation change. Anyways, wonderful hike in and out. The waterfall is very nice and the scenery while walking through the gorge is pretty awesome.

The reward at the end is definitely worth the hike! My children (ages 6-13) and I completed this in November. I would give this a "moderate" instead of difficult rating for anyone who hikes even as little as bi-monthly.

Great hike. Beautiful waterfall.

We really enjoyed this trail! However, I would say it is more moderate than hard. Beautiful view of the waterfall at the end. The side trail to the right gives a lovely view of the river.

Nice hike on well-maintained trail. The Narrows are really amazing once you are down there. There's a viewing deck but also a trail before the deck (going the opposite way) that takes you down to the creek and another waterfall below. Really looking forward to coming back in the summer.

Amazing the falls being so narrow to see the beauty of large or narrow falls are all amazing.

This was a great hike and not as difficult as rated. Anyone in reasonable shape can do this. The distance was exactly as stated according to our GPS. The Narrows are not to be missed! Beautiful! There is a spur to the left of the sign just as you get to the narrows that will take you down to the water for a perfect place to cool off and rest. The spur is about a 2 minute walk off the main trail. There is not much to see along the way, but the end is worth it. Walking out was not hard as the climb is short, then it levels off and you are back to the parking lot before you know it! I would go again for sure!! Maybe in winter to get a better view!

Awesome Trail

Easy trail, but as of May 28th, 2017 a big tree is down and blocking the path. It's more than a little sketchy, but doable.

Absolutely beautiful narrows and falls at the end of this trail. Easy hike in, moderate hike slightly uphill back. The mileage listed is total, there and back. I wouldn't call this a hard hike. Go after a heavy rain like I did for gorgeous scenery.

Nice hike, took me an hour each way. my trail didn't match the AllTrails route. I started up the road from the foothills trail parking lot, at the metal gates. The trail is marked with yellow blazes. The hardest part is coming back up from the overlook, but even that wasn't terrible. The hike along the ridge had a nice view of the mountains since the trees are still bare. Only saw a handful of people, even on a Sunday. The Narrows itself is pretty. Too bad you can't get closer to it.

Lovely, not too challenging hike. Very nice 'narrows' waterfall at the end.

great trail today (2/4/17). After a short walk from the parking lot we were easily able to follow the yellow blazes down to the narrows. Saw a few people along the way. Looking forward to exploring more of this area.

this hike was pretty easy to the narrows. coming back, I broke a bit of a sweat. we started the trail around 4:30 pm and ended up having the whole area to ourselves, although we walked back in the dark. the end viewpoint is definitely worth it.

trail was marked well and had some nice spots down at the gorge such as The Narrows. steep toward the end but good hike.

Beautiful as always. As of today (5/15/16) camping is still prohibited. :(

Easy hike to a lovely creekside campsite.

The trail is an out and back not a loop that i found, The trail is 5.4 miles out and back from what the sign says, my fit bit says it is 3.8. From the parking lot you must walk up the road a little bit to get to the trail. The trail is well maintained and has a lot of elevation changes.

This is where I decided to take my wife on her first overnight hike. It was the perfect trail for a good experience with primitive camping.

Monday, May 25, 2015

Hiked on Saturday (5/24). The trail is relatively easy. However coming up from the gorge can be a bit of a workout. Camping is now prohibited near the creek due to the risk of dead trees falling. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy a lunch.

We hiked this trail today. Weather was partly cloudy with occasional rain showers. This trail was really quite easy in my opinion and I rarely hike. The falls at the narrows was worth the hike. We didn't see a single person on the trail. Would suggest it for a family hike!

Have done this trail a few times always for the purpose of camping. Will be going back. It offers so much for so many, day hikes along the sluice, fishing, or just plain relaxing.
