This easy, foot-traffic-only loop trail begins from the dirt road that leads to the stables and continues on through varying wildlife habitats. You will descend through mixed pine and hardwood trees, wind along the rocky shoals of Fairforest Creek giving a sense of a mountain trail, and then loop back uphill through the woods. Remains of an old mill site along Fairforest Creek and bridge crossing are two historical points of view along this trail. Trail signs at intersections will help you find your way back. You may see a variety wildlife including birds, deer, squirrels, and snakes.

Peaceful stroll in the woods. Trail gets a little overgrown at places, especially near the old mill site but beautiful easy hike. We even saw a big black snake catching some rays near the river.

This trail is NOT 1.5 miles. According to my tracker it was 3 miles. The trail is generally clear; there was an area that had tall grass that was has tall as my 3 year old nephew but that was it. There were a ton of spiderwebs so have a stick ready to knock them down. The trail follows the water quite a bit which was nice. We also came across a large deer. Overall this trail was not too hard and had some diversity in the scenery.

The trail was clear and takes you past a view of the river. I went with my daughter and it was an easy hike

It says 1.5 miles, however we do 1.5 a good bit and this felt longer our Fitbit agreed and said it was over 2 miles. Very shady though. Some parts really worked my dogs.

Great little trail. The sections by the water are rewarding. Our dogs enjoy the trail as well! Keep your eyes open for deer...

Great hike with the kids. There is ruins of an old mill foundation and some signs giving history along the trail. Great hike with an option to check out the river at some specific points. Lots of fun.
