Easy to moderate hike through a pine forest with pretty lake views. Pretty low key hike with very little ascent/descent, mostly flat. Lake views begin approximately a mile in and continue until the last mile out. Well marked and easy to follow. Recommended sunset for picture enthusiasts, but leave yourself ample time to finish before it gets all the way dark.

It was long! Kind of difficult for me because it was my 3rd hike today! (4-7-2021) Couple of nice views of the lake. Someone had picked up 18 large bags of trash along the trail. And left them along the way, I’m assuming, for someone to come by with a wheelbarrow and cart them out. You can tell the bags have been sitting for a while. I did not see one other person on the trail today.

Beautiful trail. Well marked. Moves along the lake and also deep inland. Saw deer, squirrels, sea turtles, birds, Blue Crane. Not an “easy” trail. I would mark it as “moderate”. Lots of hills, tree roots, mud, rocks and steep slopes. Not flat and easy.

well kept, clean trail. it rained the previous 2 days, so we expected muddy trails and some slipping, but it was actually pretty dry and had great views. Planning to pack in a picnic next time! easy in terms of it being relatively flat, but it was long enough to be tougher than some other local trails.

Lovely lake views most of the way around. The trail was flooded in spots since it’s rained so much, but luckily we wore shoes that were ok to get muddy.

The Lake View Loop Trail is in Hickory Knob State Park. It is one of three trails in the park, but definitely has the most spectacular views of the lake. Beaver Run Trail also gives you views of the lake and it is much shorter, but I personally favor this one. The views are incredible.

Went out on a cool mid September day. Constant breeze from the lake kept it comfortable, and the terrain made for a comfortable stroll for the afternoon. There were several dry creek beds that likely would make this a more challenging course when they're flowing. Overall, would recommend.

Really pretty the whole way. Pine needles and breeze off of the water keep the air fresh even in August. There are several spots midway where you can sit on the lake shore without going off of clear and firm surfaces. Park by the barn, trail head is to the left of it. Blue blazes the whole way, only one crossing with another trail around mile 6.

I hiked this trail on the first saturday after reopening after COVID. there was one other car parked in the lot but I didnt see a single other person on the 6.7 mile hike, except for people out in boats. The boats speeding by and occasionally playing music ruins the ambiance of the hike a little bit but it's still a nice escape. the path is narrow and overgrown in spots, but not bad. it hasnt rained in a week so the trail was mostly dry except for a couple small spots that were easy to get around. a couple of downed trees but no problem. trail is well marked with blue blazes and follows the lake closely the majority of the time. I carried a stick to clear spider webs along my way. Most were small strings but there were a couple of big webs with green spiders hanging out on them just above head level (I'm 6'0"). Overall a nice hike in nature with lake views and mostly wooded with occasional breaks of sun. Good escape to get out in nature without the crowds.

This trail is easy-going. You can see the lake for roughly 75% of the hike. Mostly flat but in late November it was an excellent, cool hike

Really great trail. Only wide enough for single file but very well marked. Only one place where the trail was actually blocked.

SO MANY SPIDERS. No one warned me I’d be swatting or ducking for my life the majority of the walk. There was also a tree blocking the way in the beginning, but it wasn’t a difficult thing to bypass. Honestly if it wasnt for the spiders I would’ve finished it. Ended up cutting through the campfire trail to finish earlier.

This trail was well marked with blue blazes. There were some blown down trees but nothing you couldn’t navigate. Hiked this with my 9 month old puppy and it was a great hike for anyone. We did the last 3.5 miles in a rainstorm and the trail puddles a bit but it was a fine refresher to the initial heat of the day.
