Was only 4 miles out and back when starting from the visitor center. Well maintained and marked trails, view from atop Brown Mountain was limited, but still, a nice hike through a pleasant forest. Good way to spend 2 or 3 hours, 30 minute drive from Lake Wylie / Steele Creek area.

Peaceful, moderate hike. Some short climbs add variation to an otherwise rolling hills hike.

You can go from the visitors center out to Browns Mountain and back and I think the whole trip is like 8 miles if you do it this way. The trail is nice and wide- lots of open space for a trail run. They closed the gates at 4pm the day I was there.
