Not only are the trails offered at the visitor’s center unremarkable, but they are without a doubt the worst area for bugs I’ve been to in Savannah thus far. Venture further down the highway to a smaller pull-off that offers longer trails with better scenery and less bugs. I can honestly say after visiting most every outdoor area worth going to the last 8 months of living here, the bugs are the worst here. And not just mosquitos but every one imaginable, and that’s with bug spray. Steer clear!

small nice trail. Would have been nicer if we had not been eaten alive by mosquitoes. With that said it does have a visitors center that is nice as well as a driving portion to see wildlife.

A quick little leg stretcher. This interpitive trail offers a wide variety of trees. Gators and snakes are a lot less likely on this side of the ranger station but still possible. This is a national wildlife preserve do not be surprised to see wildlife.
